Foster care transforms lives
“Even the smallest positive impact you can have on a young person has the ability to change their life forever.”
“Offering young people some love and stability in their lives is not only life-changing for them, it is very rewarding for me too.”
“When I see a young person making progress and achieving good results at school or college, I think ‘yes, I’ve done something very worthwhile!’”

Are you ready to make a change?

Bridgend County Borough Council is supporting Foster Care Fortnight 2017- the UK’s biggest annual foster care awareness raising campaign, delivered by fostering charity, The Fostering Network. For almost 20 years, the campaign has been championing the commitment, passion and dedication of foster carers across the UK.

It also supports fostering services to highlight the need for more foster carers. Thousands of new foster families are needed every year to care for children, with the greatest need being for foster carers for older children, sibling groups, disabled children and unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

This year Foster Care Fortnight runs from Monday 8 to Sunday 21 May, the theme this year is ‘foster care transforms lives.’

We want as many people as possible to know about the transformational power of foster care, as well as the need for more foster carers. Read how our foster carers are changing lives today…

Bridgend Foster Care is the local authority’s fostering service, and aims to provide high quality placements for children and young people who, through no fault of their own, can no longer stay with their birth families.

Placements are provided via our in-house foster carers who play a vital role in creating a stable and loving family environment so children and young people can reach their full potential with confidence.
